Calvin grew up in Madison, and spent many of his early days rolling around in the woods near his childhood home. His love for spending time outdoors grew alongside him and lead him to study biology at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. It was also here that he was given the chance to explore his love for food, cooking, and cultivation. After college, he decided to continue to follow his passions and enrolled in Wisconsin’s OVFM apprenticeship program. He spent two years working and learning at another local farm, Winterfell Acres, and truly fell in love with growing and producing food. This year he hopes to continue to learn, connect, and experience everything that small scale vegetable production has to offer.
